brownielogo.gifBeing a Brownie is all about trying new and exciting activities and challenges having fun and making new friends.

If you are aged between 7 and 10 then this adventure is for you.

When you first join Brownies you will be put into a small team of girls, there is usually an older Brownie who leads the team and she is called a Sixer she and the other Brownies in your six will help you to settle in.

Also there will be several adults to help you too. These are the Guiders, the adult in charge is usually called Brown Owl

Brown Owl will talk to your Mum about things you will need and what to wear and as you will see there is lots to chose. You will also receive the Brownie Adventure Book.

After you have been going a few weeks you will most probably be ready to make your promise, (which is at the bottom of this page). You will then be presented with the badge you can see right.browniebadge.jpg This is a very special badge and can only be worn by Brownies who have made their promise.

Being a Brownie is only the beginning of your Guiding Adventure, when you are 10 or 11 you can then go up to the nearest Guide unit in your area where you will meet up with some of your Brownie friends again and also make new friends and have a lot of fun. Take a look at the Guide pages and see what they do.
