Who are the Senior Section?
Any
member of Girlguiding aged from 14 until the day before their 26th
birthday. Below are some of the many
ways you can take part in this section, you could become a:
- Ranger (14
– 25 years)
- Young
Leader (14 – 17 years)
- Young
Guider (18 – 25 years)
- Member of a
Look Wider Group (14 – 25 years)
- In4mer
(peer education) (14 – 25 years)
- Guide
member of SSAGO (16 – 25 years)
Unlike
other sections of guiding you can take part in more than one of the above.
Do
you want to be part of a group that makes its’ own decisions and enjoys
participating in activities that are unusual and require commitment?
Do
you like a challenge; enjoy camping and other outdoor activities?
Do
you want the chance to go on residential events not only locally or in the UK but perhaps
have the chance to travel abroad?
Do
you want to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award or the Queen’s Guide
Award?
Do
you want the opportunity to take part in a fun and flexible programme known as
“Look Wider”, the programme is also linked to a variety of recognised
qualifications or awards both within and outside guiding.
Young
Leaders help with Rainbow, Brownie or Guide Units and can choose to work on the
Young Leader Qualification from the age of 14 years. They can also choose to work on the Adult
Leadership Qualification from the age of 16 years. This is your own choice. Young Leaders can also be Rangers.
The
Senior Section offers something for everyone, you can take part in as much or
as little as you like, the choice is yours. Whatever you choose you are still a
member of the Senior Section and can take advantage of the countless
opportunities that this brings.
