Volunteer with Girlguiding Hants East

Welcome to Girlguiding Hampshire East, part of the UK’s leading voluntary organisation for girls and young women.  From Rainbows to Brownies, Guides and Senior Section, guiding is about fun, friendship, new challenges and adventures. 

Guiding is run by volunteers and we’re always keen to hear from anyone who’d like to help out.  If you can offer enthusiasm and commitment along with your skills and experience, we’ll provide all the training you need.

Whether it’s an hour or two every few months or a regular weekly commitment, there are lots of ways to volunteer and help us put girls in the lead.

So do something extraordinary – volunteer with Girlguiding Hampshire East.  

How you can help

Right now we have a waiting list of girls across the county who want to join but can’t – simply because we don’t have enough adult volunteers.  With your help we can reduce our waiting list.

• Unit Helper – Can you help on a regular basis once a week or a fortnight?

• Unit Leader or Assistant leader – As a new leader you will be given training ‘on the job’ and then you will gain the Leadership Qualification – a fantastic addition to your CV equivalent to an NVQ level 2.

• Volunteer rota – why don’t you help on a rota basis – even once or twice a term is really helpful.

• Specialist skills – from sailing to star gazing – why not share one of your hobbies with the girls as part of their programme.

• Property maintenance – Many units own their own property so why not share your skills with the hacksaw or screwdriver to help them keep the property in good order.

• Fund raising – If you have a flair for fund raising your skills could be put to good use.
